The COVID-19 pandemic provided professionals with unprecedented opportunities to work with the media to influence public opinion and behavior.

In this webinar, four psychologists discuss their activities across media outlets, including blogs, the popular press, radio, and TV. They will provide examples of their work and discuss how they were approached by the media or pitched their stories. In addition, they will provide hypotheses about why some of their quotes did not appear in the final product. The four psychologists will also cover the ethical issues that sometimes arise in interviews and methods for providing evidence-based but accessible information.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss examples of successful interactions with the media.
  2. Identify some ineffective ways of dealing with the media.
  3. Describe some ethical concerns that arise when dealing with the media.

This webinar will be recorded and available on-demand within 24 hours following the live presentation. If you have registered, and cannot view or missed the live webinar, please contact webinars@adaa.org.
