Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) is a new diagnosis in official diagnostic systems developed by the World Health Organization (ICD-11) and the American Psychiatric Association (DSM 5 TR). In this presentation. Dr. Katherine Shear will explain the relationship between usual grief, complicated grief, and PGD and describe how to recognize the latter. She’ll also provide an overview of the principles and procedures of Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy, a short-term, highly effective therapy for this condition.
