Melissa has been working in a clinical setting for more than 20 years. Her previous experience working in a hospital setting and outpatient clinics provided valuable experience working with complex and acute cases. Melissa earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago and practices as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She works with children beginning at age 5, adolescents and adult women. Her clinical focuses are in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD and mood disorders. Melissa practices play therapy with children in addition to other therapeutic approaches. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desentization Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma. In addition, she also practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP).
