The Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living uses evidence-based practice for conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), hoarding, trichotillomania (hairpulling), panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Its director, Dr. David Tolin, is board certified in clinical psychology, and has two decades of experience treating clients. He is the recipient of the Awards for Distinguished Contribution to the Practice of Psychology, Distinguished Contribution to the Science of Psychology, and Distinguished Lifetime Contribution to Psychology from the Connecticut Psychological Association; and the Clinical Science VIsionary Award from the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology. He is the past-President of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and past-President of the clinical psychology division of the American Psychological Association.
