Angela Ayoub Shunnarah, LICSW, LMSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders in children, adolescents and young adults. She is licensed in Alabama, Iowa and her home state of Michigan. Angela has received specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with a specific focus on exposure-based treatments for anxiety disorders and OCD. Angela is committed to providing evidence-based treatment to help children, adolescents, young adults and their families learn effective skills to manage current and future symptoms.

Angela received her B.S from the University of Michigan in 2011 and her MSW from the University of Michigan School of Social Work in 2012. She completed her internship at the University of Michigan Health System Department of Psychiatry in the Child & Adolescent Section. Following her internship, Angela completed advanced training through a two-year post-graduate fellowship at the Mary A. Rackham Institute University Center for the Child and Family. She then worked as a clinical therapist at Michigan Medicine in the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Clinic, where she also served as a therapist on an OCD clinical trial. Angela also worked in private practice for 3 years at the Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center of Ann Arbor before moving to Alabama in 2019. In addition to private practice, Angela also works in research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Psychiatry.
